Excursions in Val di Sole
Water activities
Our hotel is a short distance from the river Noce which, with its 28 km of navigable waters, is considered number one in Europe and number nine in the world for rafting. In the river Noce, voted the most beautiful river in Europe in the National Geographic, you can do various river sports such as rafting, riverboarding (also known as hydrospeed), kayaking and canoeing. Whether you are rafting enthusiasts or have never tried it, you can’t miss out on this thrilling experience.
Mountain biking through the Val di Sole
The birth of sports competitions based on the different specialisms has led to the creation of many paths on dirt tracks, not only for athletes, but also for fat bike lovers. The Hotel Almazzago is a stone’s throw from the tracks used twice for the world championships and those that host international competitions every year. Ours is one of the most convenient hotels in Val di Sole to be used as a base for trying out the thrill of the world championship tracks or simply for a leisurely ride along the cycle track that follows the lovely river Noce. The Hotel Almazzago provides its guests with mountain bikes for getting to know our beautiful Val di Sole slowly, also taking advantage of the bike + train formula.
Adamello Nature Park
The Adamello Brenta Nature Park is the largest protected area in Trentino, nestled among the mountain ranges of Brenta and Adamello. In its territory there are 48 lakes and the Adamello glacier is considered one of the largest in Europe.
The natural environment of the area is very rich from a fauna point of view and sees the presence of all the characteristic Alpine species. The brown bear has become its symbol and its presence is now guaranteed by a special conservation plan called Life Ursus launched in 1996.
Thanks to this, our bear has been saved from extinction. The park offers its visitors special “Park Houses” which can be easily reached from our hotel, each showing a special and fascinating path through the local history and nature, through the use of modern display panels, reconstructions, films, interactive activities and multimedia games.
Stelvio National Park
The Stelvio National Park is the largest park in Italy and one of the oldest. In fact, its foundation dates back to 1935 when it was decided, contrary to the policy up to then, to preserve a large area in which there were also human settlements.
This remains the main peculiarity of the Stelvio National Park. With its perfect nature and varied shapes and colours, it has been living in harmony with humans for centuries, overcoming the related difficulties in a unique and original way. The Park, which is not far from our hotel, has made a commitment to monitor and protect animals, plants and the delightful landscape of the Ortles-Cevedale range, promoting sustainable tourism and spreading values such as the protection of the environment and love of nature.
